Security Shortlist is a documentation-based cybersecurity research publication. Its product summaries identify named offerings and link to official sources. Guides provide practical evaluation questions. The site does not claim to have independently tested products, operated a review laboratory, issued awards, or collected customer ratings.
Product boundaries come first
A vendor can sell several products that support different jobs. Each summary identifies the offering being assessed. A feature belonging to another endpoint, cloud, identity, SIEM, or managed-service product is not automatically credited to the offering under discussion.
How to read the evidence
“Verified” combines documented product capability and established base inclusion. It does not imply a hands-on test or automatic entitlement. Package evidence is shown separately, including when it comes from vendor confirmation. “Module / integration / activation” identifies a dependency; “Outside assessed base” identifies a confirmed package exclusion. “Not established” is a research gap, not evidence of feature absence. The same rules apply to every supplier.
List order and shortlists
Category pages present an editorial selection, not a complete market survey or a tested performance ranking. Saving products creates your own comparison list. Offerings are ordered by the count of Verified research areas in their category, highest first. Each research area counts once; Module / integration / activation, Outside assessed base, and Not established receive zero. Equal counts share a rank, with names used only to stabilize the order within a tie. The count describes documented coverage in this research, not total product functionality or a numerical quality rating. Products in different categories should not be compared using a universal feature count.
Sources, dates and corrections
Product summaries retain the underlying catalog’s source-check dates. Publication dates identify when this site’s content was prepared. They do not imply that every source or feature was newly verified that day. Official source links let readers inspect the basis for a statement.
For a correction, retain the product name, assessed tier, relevant source URL, date and the exact statement that needs attention. Use those fields in your own research notes, and confirm a purchase-critical detail with the supplier.
What this first edition includes
The directory includes 17 main categories, with six specialist product comparison collections, 92 category-specific offering summaries, four original buying guides, and an exposure management comparison. Category guides describe evaluation questions; they do not imply that every supplier in a category has been reviewed. Some suppliers appear in several categories because the assessed offerings differ. No third-party partnership, customer endorsement, or independent certification is implied by inclusion.
